Global Drop Sync
WooCommerce REST API Connector

Global Drop Sync WooCommerce Connector

A lightweight WordPress plugin that helps WooCommerce store administrators generate secure REST API credentials for connecting their store to Global Drop Sync.

Admin-controlled credentials
WordPress admin
WooCommerce REST API key
Connection URL

Credentials stay in WordPress and WooCommerce until an administrator chooses to share the generated connection details.

Connector-only WordPress plugin

The Global Drop Sync WooCommerce Connector is a WordPress admin tool. It only helps store administrators generate and manage WooCommerce REST API credentials.

The plugin does not import, collect, copy, transform, or process product data, reviews, images, or content from third-party ecommerce websites.

The plugin does not include browser extension code and does not perform automated data collection.

What the plugin does

  • Generates standard WooCommerce REST API credentials.
  • Displays the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and Connection URL inside the WordPress admin area.
  • Requires WooCommerce to be active.
  • Requires HTTPS before API credentials can be generated.
  • Allows administrators to regenerate keys and revoke the previously generated key.
  • Stores credentials locally in WordPress/WooCommerce.

What the plugin does not do

  • Does not collect website content.
  • Does not browse third-party ecommerce platforms automatically.
  • Does not copy product content, reviews, images, pricing, or inventory from external websites.
  • Does not include or install a browser extension.
  • Does not automatically send store data to Global Drop Sync.
  • Does not create products by itself.
  • Does not modify WooCommerce products by itself.

How it works

  1. Install the Global Drop Sync WooCommerce Connector plugin in WordPress.
  2. Make sure WooCommerce is active and your WordPress site uses HTTPS.
  3. Open the Global Drop Sync page in the WordPress admin area.
  4. Click Generate API Keys.
  5. Copy the generated Connection URL.
  6. Paste the Connection URL into your authorized Global Drop Sync account or another compatible WooCommerce REST API client.
  7. The external service connects to your WooCommerce store through the standard WooCommerce REST API using the credentials you provided.

Security and permissions

The connector uses standard WooCommerce REST API credentials. API keys are generated only by an authenticated WordPress administrator with permission to manage the site.

The plugin requires HTTPS before credentials can be generated. When keys are regenerated, the previously generated WooCommerce API key is revoked.

Administrators can revoke access at any time by regenerating the key or deleting the API key from WooCommerce settings.

External service disclosure

The WordPress plugin does not automatically send data to Global Drop Sync or any other external service.

If an administrator manually copies the generated Connection URL into Global Drop Sync, the Global Drop Sync service may use those credentials to connect to the store through the WooCommerce REST API.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.0 or higher
  • WooCommerce 4.0 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • HTTPS enabled on the WordPress site
  • Administrator access to WordPress
